Iqra Bibi's journey from humble beginnings to becoming a trailblazer in her field
Education is highly valued in Pakistan and is often seen as the key to social mobility and success.
However, students from underprivileged backgrounds face significant challenges in accessing quality
education. Scholarship programs like NED Scholars play a critical role in providing opportunities.
Coming from a humble background, I attended a municipal school while my father worked as a lab
attendant. Despite financial struggles, I excelled in my studies and, with Allah’s help, achieved the
highest marks in my school during 10th grade. One teacher encouraged me to apply to a top
engineering university in Karachi, but the cost of higher education was a concern for my family. Thats
when I learned about NED Scholars, which provided scholarships to students like me. Their support
covered my tuition, provided academic resources, and even gave me a high-spec laptop, significantly
easing my financial burden.
Thanks to NED Scholars guidance and mentorship, I graduated at the top of my class, winning three
gold medals. This helped me secure a job as a test automation engineer at a reputable software house,
and I now hold a leading position at a startup, demonstrating the quality of education I received.
I am deeply grateful to the sponsors, donors, and especially Dr. Sohail for this amazing opportunity.
NED Scholars has been instrumental in my success, and I look forward to giving back the support and
guidance I received.
